The Data Engineer - Junior position is a vital role within our Databases & Data Warehousing category, based in Quantico, VA. This full-time role requires an individual who is eager to support the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and infrastructure that facilitate advanced analytics and AI/ML solutions for the Marine Corps and Department of Defense. The successful candidate will work closely with senior data engineers and analysts to ingest, transform, and prepare data from multiple military and government systems.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to develop their skills in a challenging environment that directly contributes to national security initiatives. The position requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance, emphasizing the sensitive nature of the work involved.

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
• 0-3 years of experience in data engineering, database development, or related technical roles
• Basic experience with SQL and at least one programming or scripting language such as Python
• Familiarity with relational databases and concepts including tables, views, indices, and joins
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment and adhere to established engineering standards and best practices
• Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance

• Assist in building and maintaining data pipelines that move and transform data from source systems into analytic data stores
• Implement basic data quality checks, validation routines, and data cleansing processes to ensure data integrity
• Support the integration of structured and semi-structured data sources relevant to capability development and experimentation
• Collaborate with senior data engineers and analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into technical tasks
• Contribute to the documentation of data flows, schemas, and data dictionaries for system clarity and future maintenance
• Implement basic data security measures and access controls in accordance with DoD and USMC policies and best practices
• Troubleshoot data pipeline issues and support ongoing operations and maintenance activities to ensure system reliability
