Description

The Associate Vice President, Sales (Sponsorship & Advertising) and Events serves as the principal deputy to the Vice President and assists in the strategic planning, development, and execution of the Marine Corps Association's sponsorship, advertising, and event portfolios.

Working closely with the Vice President, this position develops and maintains relationships with corporate partners, sponsors, Marine Corps leadership, industry representatives, and other key stakeholders while supporting revenue generation and ensuring the successful execution of Association events. The Associate Vice President also assists in leading departmental operations, coordinating cross-functional efforts, and advancing strategic initiatives that strengthen the Association's mission and financial sustainability.

This position is intentionally structured to provide progressive executive experience and is designed to prepare the successful candidate for future consideration as the Association's Vice President, Sales (Sponsorship & Advertising) and Events, based on demonstrated performance, organizational needs, and the Association's succession planning objectives.

This job is a civilian position and does not require military service (including commission and enlistment)

  • Serve as the principal deputy to the Vice President and act on the Vice President's behalf, as directed.
  • Support the strategic planning, execution, and continuous improvement of the department's programs and operations.
  • Assist in leading departmental staff
  • Develop briefings, reports, and recommendations for leadership.
  • Represent the Association in meetings and engagements with internal and external stakeholders.
Event Leadership
  • Provide oversight into the planning, coordination, and execution of Association events.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with Marine Corps commands and external partners to ensure successful event execution.
  • Ensure events are conducted in accordance with Association standards, budgets, schedules, and objectives.
  • Evaluate event performance and recommend improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, and member value.
Sponsorship Development
  • Assist in developing and executing sponsorship strategies that strengthen corporate partnerships and increase revenue.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with sponsors and industry partners.
  • Identify and pursue new sponsorship opportunities that support the Association's mission and long-term objectives.
  • Ensure fulfillment of sponsor commitments while enhancing the overall sponsor experience.
Advertising Sales
  • Support the development and execution of advertising sales strategies for Association publications and digital platforms.
  • Strengthen relationships with existing advertisers while pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Coordinate advertising agreements and ensure timely execution of advertising commitments.
  • Identify innovative advertising products and revenue-generating opportunities.
Business Operations
  • Assist in developing annual budgets, revenue forecasts, and performance metrics.
  • Coordinate with Finance and other departments to ensure sound fiscal management and compliance with Association policies.
  • Monitor departmental performance and recommend process improvements that enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Support the development and implementation of long-range business strategies that contribute to organizational growth.
Executive Representation
  • Represent the Association with corporate partners, sponsors, Marine Corps leadership, industry representatives, and other external stakeholders.
  • Build collaborative relationships that advance the Association's mission and strategic objectives.
  • Promote the Association's programs, services, and value to current and prospective partners.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required;
    Master's degree or equivalent executive leadership experience preferred.
