This opportunity resides with Global Security (GS) and supports the Naval Surface Warfare Center – Corona (NSWC Corona) by delivering Marine Corps Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training. The role, Engineer Systems 3 – JLVC Capability Manager, is based at the Training Support Center (TSC) on Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA. It focuses on the operational testing, development, and integration of Navy and Marine Corps LVC training systems to ensure compatibility, interoperability, and alignment with USMC and Fleet training requirements.

- Provide subject matter expertise on Joint Live Virtual Constructive (JLVC) federate simulations and tools.
- Train BSC staff and end users on installation procedures, initialization, user roles, and participation in training events.
- Conduct continuing education activities to keep abreast of emerging JLVC capabilities and development roadmaps.
- Initialize and employ JLVC federate simulation instances to meet training objectives.
- Manage local simulation artifacts (parametric databases, enumeration tables, 3D models, terrain, etc.) ensuring alignment with Marine Corps Training and Education Command (TECOM).
- Support continuous refinement of enterprise documentation regarding JLVC federate capabilities and best practices.
- Collaborate with the Federation Manager to federate JLVC simulation instances.
- 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree; 3 years with a Master’s; 9 years with a High School Diploma; or 0 years with a Ph.D. or Juris Doctor.
- Familiarity with Linux (command line) and Windows operating systems.
- Demonstrated technical leadership ability.
- Ability to address technical issues by assigning appropriate engineers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all organizational levels.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
- Current CompTIA Security+ certification is required.
- Current US Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Six to eight years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
- Knowledge of distributed simulation protocols such as High Level Architecture (HLA) and Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS).
- Familiarity with networking concepts, architectures, and protocols (TCP/IP, UDP).
- Experience with MS Visio for technical architecture drawings.
- Knowledge of Navy C4I tactical systems such as Link 16 and GCCS.
- Experience working with Navy systems and/or commands.
Office, industrial, or shipboard environment. Ability to climb ladders, tolerate confined spaces, and endure extreme temperature variations. Lifting and moving materials may be required.
