The Communications Specialist plans and delivers strategic communications across written, digital, social-media, web, briefing, and multimedia channels while maintaining consistent organizational messaging and measuring campaign effectiveness.
Duties and responsibilities- Develop and implement strategic communication plans that align with organizational goals and priorities.
- Create content for various communication channels, including newsletters, press releases, social media, and websites, ensuring consistency in messaging.
- Manage and update the organization's social media presence, engaging with audiences and monitoring for brand-related discussions.
- Analyze communication campaign effectiveness through metrics and analytics, reporting results to senior leadership to inform future strategies.
- Develop talking points, speeches, and briefing materials for leadership to support public appearances and stakeholder meetings.
- Produce multimedia content, including videos, graphics, and infographics, to enhance engagement and convey key messages visually.
- Organize and support internal communication initiatives to keep staff informed about policies, events, and organizational changes.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure aligned messaging and cohesive branding across all organizational communication efforts.
- Maintain a calendar of communication activities, ensuring timely and strategic delivery of content and announcements.
- Develop and manage strategic partnerships with external organizations to extend reach and enhance brand visibility.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic communication plans and create clear content for executive, digital, social-media, web, and multimedia channels.
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- Three (3) years' experience providing strategic communications, public affairs, marketing, or corporate communications support.
- Minimum Tier 1 background investigation and Government-access eligibility are required; an active Secret clearance is required before supporting classified events or tasks.
