River Tech is looking for a Safety Manager to work in Quantico, VA. To join our team of outstanding professionals,

Responsibilities Facility Safety and Compliance
  • Ensure all DCSA facilities achieve and maintain compliance with applicable Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) standards.
  • Conduct annual facility safety assessments using a RAC code-based prioritization approach to focus on facilities with the greatest safety risks.
Mishap and Hazard Management
  • Investigate, report, and mitigate mishaps (e.g., ground, traffic, and occupational incidents) to prevent recurrence.
  • Track identified hazards from identification to closure, ensuring timely follow-up actions.
Proactive Risk Reduction
  • Implement programs to proactively identify and reduce workplace risks, including ergonomic stressors and illness hazards.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments and job hazard analyses to improve workplace safety.

Program Reporting and Documentation:
Deliver accurate, timely, and actionable reports ensuring all reports meet established timelines and quality standards. Reports include:

  • Facility safety assessment reports.
  • Mishap investigation reports.
  • Hazard investigation reports.
  • Ergonomic assessment reports.
  • Monthly summary/status reports.
  • Industrial Hygiene investigation reports.
  • Agency employee safety training reports.
SOH Program Support/Training
  • Serve as the expert SOH authority for the region, providing training, consultation, and technical guidance to DCSA personnel.
  • Conduct at least one safety training session per quarter via MS TEAMS to instruct DCSA employees on how to report a mishap, or a hazard using the DCSA Safety module and any other subject with the goal of enhancing awareness and compliance with safety standards.
Facility Project Safety Oversight
  • Attend facility renovation and Military Construction (MILCON) project meetings to ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Accompany the Logistics Facility Manager on the "punch walk".
  • Document safety concerns and provide recommendations to mitigate risks during construction and renovation activities.
Quality Control and Assurance
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Quality Control Plan (QCP) to ensure all services are performed in accordance with the requirements of the Performance Work Statement.
  • The QCP shall detail the Contractor's procedures for the following:
    • Inspection System: A description of the inspection system that will cover all services required by this PWS. This must specify the areas to be inspected on both a scheduled and unscheduled basis, the frequency of inspections, and the titles of the individuals who will perform the inspections.
    • Deficiency Identification: A method for identifying deficiencies in the quality of service performed before the level of performance becomes unacceptable.
    • Corrective and Preventive Actions: A clear process for correcting identified deficiencies and implementing preventive measures to preclude their recurrence. This should include procedures for root cause analysis.
    • Performance Requirements Summary (PRS) Alignment:
      Specific quality control procedures that directly address each of the areas identified in the Performance Requirements Summary (PRS) of this PWS.
    • Documentation and Records: A description of how QC inspections, corrective actions, and performance metrics will be documented and maintained. These records shall be made available to the Government upon request.
    • Customer Feedback: A process for receiving, evaluating, and addressing customer feedback and complaints to improve service quality.
Qualifications
  • 7-10 years of direct, hands-on industry experience in environmental health and safety or a related field certified in risk management and health/safety management.
  • US Citizen.
  • Current and valid Driver's License.
  • Current SECRET security clearance.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering or related safety field.

Certifications:

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification with Board of Certified Safety Professionals or equivalent credentials.
