Salary Range: $38.98 - $38.98 Hourly

Job Summary:

The Electrician is responsible for performing Journeyman level duties related to electrical components and systems such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.

Pay Rate: $38.98 per hour. This will be a union position

Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm

Essential Job Functions:
  • Works from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications
  • Locates and diagnoses trouble in the electrical system or equipment
  • Solves standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment using a variety of electrician’s hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.
  • Document actions, testing results, observations, final diagnosis of the situation and steps taken to resolve issues for each job or situation
  • Repair electrical issues by replacing or installing components, wiring or devices
  • Determine the steps necessary to assess an electrical situation using testing devices, blueprints and maps
  • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company guidelines and OSHA safety requirements and also through reporting violations of policies, procedures and guidelines to immediate supervisor
  • Use ladders, scaffolding, platform and lifts to work on electrical systems in residential homes, on roadside poles and in commercial properties
  • Answer emergency calls quickly, assess the safety of the situation upon first arriving at the scene and provide directions to individuals affected by the electrical emergency to ensure their continued safety and comfort
  • Maintain equipment to ensure it is in good condition and can operate or be used safely; report any issues to immediate supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of Electrician Journeyman License Required in VA, MD, or DC
  • 3-5 years of progressive, hands‑on experience in a commercial and industrial setting
  • Proficiency with National Electrical Codes and Local Codes
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to pass a background check and obtain a security clearance, upon hire
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Ability to work both in a team as well as independently
Equipment Used

Hand tools necessary to complete daily maintenance and repair tasks. Office equipment such as tablets, computers, phones, printers.

Working Environment

Work takes place in a large, complex facility with exposure to varying noise levels due to equipment. This position will perform work in an indoor and outdoor setting with exposure to different temperatures and weather conditions
