This role requires full time on site presence.

Your role

Radio-Canada’s Quebec City team is seeking a videojournalist for its new bureau in the Charlevoix region.

We’re looking for a skilled storyfinder, storyteller and shooter to fill this role based in Baie-Saint-Paul or La Malbaie. You must be a creative thinker with proven skills in covering current affairs, building a network of contacts and developing original content to be deployed across all our platforms. You should be able to travel around the region and be comfortable appearing live on air.

You should also be able to produce and shoot your own items. As part of the Quebec City team, you’ll research, gather, package and present material for all platforms.

You’ll have to edit your own video, cover stories for our radio and digital platforms and work flexible hours, often independently and without ongoing supervision.

What you bring?

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

  • Three years’ practical and relevant experience.

  • Skills:

  • Solid storytelling skills.

  • Comfortable and dynamic on-air presence.

  • Strong interviewing ability.

  • Ability to write clearly and concisely.

  • Understanding of CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices.

  • Ability to produce content in a digital environment.

  • Ability to generate original story ideas and creative treatments.

  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, tight-deadline environment, often in unexpected overtime situations.

  • Strong knowledge of the Charlevoix region and its issues.

  • Flexibility to work regularly for television, radio and/or digital platforms.

  • Creative problem-solving skills.

  • Highly creative, imaginative and motivated team player and self-starter.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Additional requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license.
