- Analyze credit information to support lending decisions for new and existing commercial banking loans and credit solutions within an assigned portfolio.
- Make credit decisions and recommendations in compliance with bank policies while maintaining an exceptional client service environment.
- Perform financial analysis and calculations, assess client creditworthiness, and prepare detailed credit summaries.
- Utilize financial models and analytical tools to assess client repayment capacity and recommend appropriate loan structures and collateral.
- Support credit‑granting decisions by making recommendations to the manager.
- Monitor portfolio performance, identify deteriorating credit conditions, and ensure compliance.
- Analyze metrics and assess industry trends to spot risks and opportunities.
- Negotiate loan terms and conditions, structuring loans that align with client requirements and bank risk appetite and policies.
- Develop proposals to capture new business and expand client relationships.
- Build and maintain client relationships in collaboration with Relationship Managers and business partners.
- Structure and support new, renewal, and extension loans in alignment with client needs and bank policies.
- Conduct financial analysis and risk assessments for the assigned portfolio to provide insights and informed decisions.
- Monitor portfolio performance on an ongoing basis and take corrective action when required.
- Minimize risk exposure by adhering to credit policies, regulatory standards, and operational guidelines.
- Serve as a point of contact for service requests, ensuring expectations are consistently met or exceeded, and escalating issues when needed.
- Support and implement initiatives to enhance service quality, acquire new business, and expand client relationships.
- Identify revenue and cross‑selling opportunities to enhance portfolio growth and share of wallet.
- Leverage analysis tools to nurture and grow a portfolio that exceeds ROE thresholds and evaluates client returns proactively.
- Manage timely and accurate data entry into BMO’s systems and leverage the data to support decision‑making.
- Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules while working independently on complex tasks.
- Take measured risks while protecting the bank by applying the Risk Management Framework in line with risk culture and approved risk appetite.
- Preferred 1–2 years of relevant experience in credit, lending instruments, or financial operations in a corporate or banking environment.
- Credit qualifications and associated credit knowledge and skills according to the credit portfolio requirements and qualification standards (if applicable).
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting preferred. Other related disciplines or commensurate work experience considered. - Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.
- Intermediate proficiency in problem solving, collaboration, detail orientation, analytical thinking, loan structuring, regulatory compliance, portfolio management, credit risk assessment, banking operations, and Microsoft Office.
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools and financial analysis.
- Fluency in French and English.
Salary: $56,000.00 – $ (salaried)
