Responsibilities
- Oversee all operational finance functions (AP, AR, payroll, GL, taxes)
- Manage a team of approximately 17 people including a head accountant
- Ensure the reliability, integrity and availability of financial information
- Act as a key partner to the FP&A team (separate function)
- Supervise preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
- Lead the financial close process (timelines, quality, accuracy)
- Ensure rigor in journal entries and reconciliations
- Collaborate with FP&A on budget vs. actual analyses
- Contribute to interpretation of financial results
- Support managers in understanding performance
- Provide reliable financial data for the annual budget
- Contribute to forecasting and financial planning
- Participate in discussions on profitability and performance
- Implement and optimize internal controls
- Ensure compliance with accounting and tax standards
- Participate in internal and external audits
- Standardize and improve end-to-end financial processes
- Collaborate with IT teams on financial systems and data quality
- Identify and implement continuous improvements
- Lead, engage and develop a multidisciplinary team
- Define roles, responsibilities and accountability
- Promote a culture of performance, collaboration and rigor
- Act as a strategic partner to operational teams
- Work closely with FP&A
- Contribute to business decisions and cross-functional projects
- Adherence to financial close timelines
- Reliability and quality of financial information
- Effectiveness of processes and controls
- Team performance and engagement
- Quality of support to business partners
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA designation (required or a major asset)
- 8–12 years of relevant experience
- Significant experience in team management
- Experience in an SME or high-growth environment (asset)
- Technical Skills
- Proficiency in accounting standards (IFRS or ASPE)
- Strong financial analysis skills
- Advanced Excel and ERP proficiency
- Power BI experience (asset)
