Responsibilities

Oversee all operational finance functions (AP, AR, payroll, GL, taxes)

Manage a team of approximately 17 people including a head accountant

Ensure the reliability, integrity and availability of financial information

Act as a key partner to the FP&A team (separate function)

Financial Information and Close

Supervise preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements

Lead the financial close process (timelines, quality, accuracy)

Ensure rigor in journal entries and reconciliations

Analysis and Performance

Collaborate with FP&A on budget vs. actual analyses

Contribute to interpretation of financial results

Support managers in understanding performance

Budgeting and Forecasting

Provide reliable financial data for the annual budget

Contribute to forecasting and financial planning

Participate in discussions on profitability and performance

Internal Controls and Compliance

Implement and optimize internal controls

Ensure compliance with accounting and tax standards

Participate in internal and external audits

Optimization of Financial Operations

Standardize and improve end-to-end financial processes

Collaborate with IT teams on financial systems and data quality

Identify and implement continuous improvements

Leadership and Team Management

Lead, engage and develop a multidisciplinary team

Define roles, responsibilities and accountability

Promote a culture of performance, collaboration and rigor

Business Partnership

Act as a strategic partner to operational teams

Work closely with FP&A

Contribute to business decisions and cross-functional projects

Key Performance Indicators

Adherence to financial close timelines

Reliability and quality of financial information

Effectiveness of processes and controls

Team performance and engagement

Quality of support to business partners

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

CPA designation (required or a major asset)

8–12 years of relevant experience

Significant experience in team management

Experience in an SME or high-growth environment (asset)

Technical Skills

Proficiency in accounting standards (IFRS or ASPE)

Strong financial analysis skills

Advanced Excel and ERP proficiency

Power BI experience (asset)
