With a strong asset base, leading brands, and a disciplined focus on execution and profitability, Cannara is entering its next phase of growth and is seeking an exceptional Chief Financial Officer to help scale the business.

Position Summary

The Chief Financial Officer will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team and a strategic partner to the CEO and COO. The CFO will be responsible for leading all aspects of the finance function, including public company reporting, manufacturing accounting, financial planning and analysis, taxation, treasury, capital allocation, internal controls, banking relationships, and investor relations.

A critical component of this role will be to strengthen Cannara’s manufacturing finance capabilities, including product costing, inventory accounting, gross margin analysis, pricing support, and operational performance measurement across a portfolio of branded CPG products. The successful candidate will combine public company rigor with strong commercial and operational finance acumen and will help drive scalable, profitable growth through disciplined financial leadership and sharper data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, COO, and Board on financial strategy, business performance, capital allocation, and risk management
  • Partner closely with executive leadership on key strategic initiatives, including growth planning, capital expenditures, financing initiatives, and potential M&A opportunities
  • Provide rigorous financial insight to support decision‑making across pricing, product mix, profitability, manufacturing efficiency, working capital, and return on investment
  • Help shape and institutionalize a high‑performance, data‑driven operating culture across the organization
Financial Planning, Performance & Analysis
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, long‑range planning, and cash flow management
  • Oversee financial planning and analysis with a strong focus on manufacturing economics, cost structure, product profitability, and business performance improvement
  • Develop robust reporting and analytics around gross margin by brand, SKU, category, format, province, and customer to support stronger commercial and operating decisions
  • Lead scenario analysis around pricing, trade‑offs between cost and margin, product mix optimization, and promotional or strategic commercial decisions
  • Build financial models and decision‑support tools to evaluate investments, operational initiatives, and growth opportunities
Manufacturing Finance, Costing & Pricing
  • Oversee all manufacturing accounting processes, including inventory accounting, standard costing or actual costing methodologies, variance analysis, and cost allocation frameworks
  • Ensure accurate and decision‑useful product costing across cultivation, extraction, processing, packaging, and distribution activities
  • Strengthen financial visibility into yields, production efficiency, labor utilization, overhead absorption, scrap, and other key manufacturing performance drivers
  • Partner with operations, supply chain, sales, and marketing to ensure costing and margin data are translated into actionable pricing and assortment decisions
  • Support the development of disciplined pricing frameworks for branded CPG products, balancing competitiveness, market dynamics, gross margin targets, and long‑term brand positioning
  • Ensure inventory valuation, reserves, and cost accounting policies are robust, accurate, and aligned with IFRS and operational realities
  • Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing KPI reporting and profitability analytics to support scale and margin expansion
Financial Management, Tax, Reporting & Controls
  • Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, including IFRS financial statements, MD&A, audit coordination, and TSX/public company compliance
