Position (details)

In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing credit exceptions, managing escalations, and overseeing quality assurance activities. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and driving continuous improvement within the department.

Responsibilities
Policy Exceptions & Escalations
  • Review and assess complex credit applications, policy exception requests, and escalated matters, providing sound recommendations and risk-based decision support.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on trends related to client exceptions and escalations, identifying root causes and recommending process, policy, and control enhancements.
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders on the interpretation and application of lending policies, procedures, and risk frameworks.
  • Partner with business leaders to resolve high-impact escalations while ensuring adherence to established risk and compliance standards.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Planning, execution, and oversight of quality assurance reviews to evaluate compliance with lending policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze quality assurance findings, identify emerging risks and control gaps, and drive corrective action plans to improve performance and mitigate risk.
  • Develop and deliver targeted training, coaching, and communication materials based on audit, compliance, and QA results to support continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and present quality assurance and compliance reporting, metrics, and key insights to management, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the mortgage lending industry, with a strong background in underwriting, and development of lending guidelines.
  • A university degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Proven problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent teamwork, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Bilingualism (English-French) is preferred.

The expected annual base salary range for this role is $69,500 - $100,500, which is determined based on skills, knowledge and experience and geographic location
