Laboratory Technician in Biology and Chemistry

Location: Quebec

Support educational excellence as a Laboratory Technician in Biology and Chemistry, assisting with lab sessions and equipment management. This role also requires collaboration in a Physics lab environment to ensure smooth operations.

As a Laboratory Technician, you will assist teachers in preparing and supervising laboratory work in Biology, Chemistry, and some Physics activities. Your tasks will include maintaining laboratory equipment, supporting students during hands-on labs, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This position requires a strong background and experience in laboratory settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain, sterilize, and manage cleaning of all PPE

• Assist in preparation and cleanup of lab sessions

• Manage hazardous waste disposal according to legislation

• Keep records of technicians/visitors in the Biology Lab

• Support equipment installation and repairs during lab sessions

Requirements:

• Cégep diploma or recognized equivalent in relevant field

• Previous laboratory experience mandatory

• Knowledge of biohazard management and risk assessments

• Familiarity with Labview and IT skills required

• WHMIS certification, First Aid, and TDG training needed
