Gold Candle Ltd. is currently recruiting the following challenging and rewarding position to join our site project team in Virginiatown, Ontario.

Project Geologist – Quebec

Gold Candle is a privately funded Canadian exploration company that is actively drilling and conducting exploration activities to evaluate gold mineralization present around the historic workings of the Kerr-Addison Mine situated in McGarry Township located in Northern Ontario. Since 2015, Gold Candle drilled over 130,000m on the property and extensive land position extending 6km along the Larder Lake Cadillac Break. In 2025, Gold Candle released a multi‑million ounce combined open pit and underground gold mineral resource estimate.

Gold Candle recently released an initial mineral resource estimate on the newly‑discovered Geminid nickel deposit, validating the mineralized potential of the Company’s land position.

Role

Summary:

Reporting to the Sr. Project Manager, the Project Geologist leads defined geological work programs with direct accountability for borehole planning, data quality, contractor coordination and mentorship of junior technical staff.

Primarily locally based on a 4/3 or 5/2 schedule, the Project Geologist provides consistent on‑site geological leadership and plays an active role in supporting the integration of a new project area in Quebec.

Key Responsibilities:

Field Operations & Geological Execution
  • Lead field activities for the assigned drill program scope including infill and geotechnical drilling.
  • Design drill holes based on geological targets and program objectives; coordinate site readiness, collar positioning and layout with contractors.
  • Communicate borehole plans and priority changes to contractors; track hole progress daily, resolve deviations and forecast directional drilling needs against available resources and lead times.
  • Conduct field inspections, collar surveys and drill site audits; execute drill move coordination.
  • Maintain real‑time drill status updates.
Health, Safety & Environment Oversight
  • Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings and field inspections; reinforce Gold Candle’s HS&E culture by example and accountability.
  • Identify unsafe conditions, equipment concerns or procedural non‑conformities and act on them immediately; escalate where required.
  • Enforce PPE and procedural compliance; ensure activities comply with Reg. 854, site hazard assessments and permit conditions; support incident response and close‑out documentation.
Geological Data & Interpretation
  • Own geological interpretations for the assigned project area; prepare and update cross‑sections, target maps and Leapfrog/Micromine models.
  • Ensure data integrity across assigned programs; approve final database entries and validate collar locations, survey data and assay uploads.
  • Review and approve logs; spot‑check QAQC implementation and data submissions; prepare summaries and contribute to reporting.
Project Integration, Reporting & Team Leadership
  • Support integration of a new project area through knowledge‑building, data compilation and geological synthesis.
  • Develop program objectives, geological frameworks and early drilling targets with senior staff.
  • Provide day‑to‑day technical supervision and mentorship to junior geologists and GITs; prepare and present project summaries to senior staff and management.
Requirements:
  • B.Sc. in Geology, Geological Engineering, or Earth Sciences; registration or active eligibility with OIQ or OGQ required.
  • Five to ten years of mineral exploration experience with increasing technical responsibility; prior experience in a field technical lead role is an asset.
  • Proven capability in drill core logging, sampling and QAQC supervision; strong proficiency in geological databases, Leapfrog/Micromine, GIS platforms and Microsoft Excel.
  • Candidates based in the Rouyn‑Noranda or Kirkland Lake area are strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of safe work practices and emergency response.
  • Fluency in French (spoken and written) is required;
    English proficiency is an asset.
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada.
