DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting safe work practices and positive workplace environment
- Provide technical and project management expertise to the company’s exploration team:
- On site supervision of drill and field exploration programs to ensure completion on-time/on-budget
- Ensuring consistent and accurate data collection and management by geology team
- Generation and critical review of exploration targets, data analysis and geologic interpretation
- Development of deposit-scale geologic models (lithology, structure, mineralization, alteration) to support robust mineral resource estimates and well-informed exploration targeting decisions
- Communicate effectively with members of the Exploration, Operations, Health Safety and Environmental teams to ensure successful execution of critical path objectives and workflows
- Collaborate and contribute to the preparation and delivery of internal and external presentations, written reports and public news releases
- Assist senior management by providing informed input into the preparation of fit-for-purpose exploration programs, timelines and budgets
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to effectively delegate work while maintaining forward motion on key deliverables
- Engaged team builder with the ability to foster productive internal and external relationships
- Ability to mentor, coach and develop a team of young professionals to become well-rounded economic geologists, self-directed explorationists, and accountable results-driven leaders
- Adaptability to work effectively as a member of a diverse high performing team in a dynamic fast-paced environment, managing conflicting demands and challenges to achieve key objectives and deliverables
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization
- Excellent problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills
- Experience exploring for gold and base metals in diverse geologic settings and field environments
- Working knowledge of economic requirements needed to support a commercially viable mining operation
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision in remote camp environment
- Effective computer skills including MS Office and geologic software (e.g., Leapfrog, QGIS, ioGAS, ac Quire)
- P. Geo designation as a Practicing Member of appropriate Provincial associations, OGQ preferred
- Bachelor's degree in geology or geological engineering;
Master’s Degree considered a plus - Minimum of 8 years’ experience in mineral exploration and resource development
- French language proficiency is considered a plus
