Component ​/ Rockdrill Technician (Mechanic, Machinist or Millwright

SMS Equipment continues to grow its Underground operations and is seeking a Component / Rockdrill Technician (Mechanic, Machinist or Millwright) to join our team in Val d’Or, QC. Fluency in French is required for this position.

This is a shop-based role, focused on component rebuilds and rockdrill diagnostics in a clean, well-equipped environment. Occasional travel to customer sites may be required. SMS will provide the necessary training for this position.

Base Wage
: $47.28 per hour, plus applicable premiums*.
Location: Val-d’Or, QC. Potential Relocation Assistance available
Schedule: 5x2

* Additional market premium and rockdrill premium brings rate to approximately $55.01 per hour
. Other assignment-based premiums and allowances may apply.

The successful candidate will have completed their Diploma (DEP) or Red Seal certification in a Heavy Equipment Technician, Machinist, or Millwright trade. Other levels of mechanical rebuild knowledge may be considered.
