Building Services Technician / Industrial mechanic – Job Opportunities in Donnacona Correctional Service of Canada

Employment tenure Staffing needs include opportunities for permanent, temporary, and casual employment (note: casual work is offered for a fixed duration not exceeding 90 working days in the same calendar year).

Salary From $34.22 to $37.20 per hour, in addition to annual allowances such as a $2,140 Correctional Service Specific Duty Allowance (CSSDA) and an Inmate Training Differential.

Who can apply Persons residing in Canada, and Canadian citizens and Permanent residents abroad.

Must be willing and able to work and lift tools, equipment and objects weighing at least 50 lbs when required (candidates may be required to pass a physical test in relation to this condition). Must possess and maintain a valid provincial driver’s license.

Operational Requirements
  • Willingness to work occasionally work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays
  • Willingness to work overtime, in shifts, or be on call
  • Willingness to work with inmates and provide training as needed
  • Willingness to work in various facilities and agree to work in different environments such as confined spaces, elevated areas, construction sites, etc.

Vocational Studies Diploma, College Studies Certificate, or College Diploma in the field of the position, such as:

  • VSD Electromechanics;
  • VSD Automated systems Electromechanics;
  • VSD Refrigeration;
  • CSC Instrumentation and Automation;
  • CSC Industrial Automation;
  • CSC Automation and Control;
  • DC Industrial Electronics Technology.

EX1:
Experience in the installation, operation, and maintenance of equipment and systems in commercial or institutional buildings, for example:

  • Compressors and/or;
  • Refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, and heating equipment, and/or;
  • Equipment, machinery, and tools for metalworking.
