Position: Psychologist Lead 2026-2027 School Year (611)

Job Goal

Oversee all psychological and educational support services at all school sites. Provide direct and indirect services to children, including evaluation, reporting, teacher and parent consultation, and educational programming.

Qualifications
  • Valid Arizona School Psychologist Certificate and Master's degree required
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in the administration of a variety of psychological educational assessment instruments, including Q-Global and Q-Interactive.
  • Demonstrate ability to develop positive and effective relationships with students, parents, teachers, principals, and other professionals
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrate ability to manage time and to complete assigned tasks in an organized and efficient manner
  • Previous experience working with students and families from diverse ethnic populations preferred
  • Ability to bend and lift 50 lbs. and stand and sit for long periods
  • Must pass a background clearance.
  • Must obtain an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Performance Responsibilities

Responsibilities shall include, but are not be limited to, the following:

  • Oversee and place all school psychologists at schools.
  • Evaluate and supervise all school psychologists, develop and oversee improvement plans when needed.
  • Work with District and site administration to provide guidance on student discipline when needed and conduct Manifestation Determination Review Meetings.
  • Provide and oversee professional development opportunities for school psychologists, speech language pathologists (Technicians and SLPA's also), physical therapists, and Occupational Therapists.
  • Oversee and provide training for paper and online testing platforms (Q-Global/Q-Interactive, etc.).
  • Review and maintain all protocols and ensure all protocols are available for all disciplines, paper and online.
  • Review psychologists applications, interview and recommend for hire.
  • Work with contract companies when needed to find and hire school psychologists.
  • Oversee and review all evaluation processes and make recommendations for improvement Preschool through age 22.
  • Complete the annual EDP application through ADE Connect system.
  • Complete and oversee the completion of all Vouchers through the ADE Connect Voucher system.
  • Attend IEP and MET meetings with advocates and or attorneys.
  • Work with all District personnel in creating and maintaining school safety plans and threat assessments.
  • Work with District Personnel in managing and assisting in all crisis situations, including assigning school psychologists to go to all schools when needed or requested.
  • Ensure all Evaluations are conducted in a manner consistent with ADE Guidelines.
  • Conduct individual psychological educational evaluations in accordance with mandated timelines, district procedures, and state and federal requirements.
  • Consult with parents, teachers, principals, and other professionals during the evaluation process to assist in determining students’ educational needs.
  • Prepare written psychological educational reports in accordance with mandated timelines.
  • Participate in the special education placement process to ensure student placement in the least restrictive environment.
  • Function as an effective member of Multidisciplinary Evaluation and IEP teams.
  • Supervise and mentor new psychologists
  • Supervise psychologist interns and practicum psychology students.
  • Oversee District therapeutic physical intervention trainings and trainings
  • Perform other job‑related duties as assigned to advance district priorities.
