Substitute Teacher- Part Time

Job Overview

Rite of Passage Team is hiring a Substitute Teacher - Part Time at Canyon State Academy located in Queen Creek, Arizona.

Canyon State Academy is situated on a scenic 180-acre campus, featuring student housing for 300+ youth, a thrift store, café, barbershop, church, weight room, football stadium, athletic center, and more.

The Substitute Teacher will:

• Fill in for teaching staff on duty when absent.
• Implement and adhere to Positive Peer Culture principles.
• Provide instructional services to students.
• Collaborate with staff in a supportive manner, promoting a positive attitude toward students, staff, and the program.
• Report to the principal and/or assistant principals.

Required:

• AA or BA/BS degree.
• Valid Arizona teaching credentials.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience working in a behavioral health office environment.
• Experience and success in office management.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise students.
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with a positive work ethic.
• Current State Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record for the past 3 years.
• Capacity to pass criminal background clearance, drug screen, physical and TB test.

Preferred:

• Related experience working with at-risk youth.
• Drivers license (optional but preferred).
