Position: CLINICAL DIRECTOR

Join Our Dynamic Rite of Passage Team as a Clinical Director at Rite path(A Program of Rite of Passage) in Tempe, AZ
, a community rooted in a rich agricultural history and known for cultivating growth both in its fields and in the lives of Youth-by fostering positive change and empowerment.

The Clinical Director provides leadership, oversight, and management of all clinical services. This position ensures delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed, and evidence-based treatment while maintaining full compliance with Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS), AHCCCS, HIPAA, and all applicable state and federal regulations. The Clinical Director serves as the primary clinical leader for the program, provides clinical supervision, and maintains a limited clinical caseload in support of Rite Path’s mission and values.

What

You Will Do Clinical Oversight & Regulatory Compliance
  • Provide comprehensive clinical oversight to ensure compliance with ADHS licensing standards, AHCCCS requirements, HIPAA, and applicable state and federal laws.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor clinical policies, procedures, and service delivery models, including intake, assessment, individual, group, and family therapy.
  • Ensure the consistent application of evidence-based and trauma-informed treatment practices.
  • Monitor quality of care through chart audits, outcome measures, utilization reviews, and evaluation of treatment plan effectiveness.
  • Lead and coordinate clinical crisis response and provide supervisory coverage for high-risk or urgent clinical situations.
Staff Management & Clinical Supervision
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and evaluate licensed and associate-level clinical staff, interns, and trainees.
  • Provide ongoing individual and group clinical supervision in accordance with Arizona licensure requirements.
  • Serve as an Arizona Board-approved clinical supervisor for associate-level clinicians (LAC, LMSW, LAMFT), including documentation of supervision hours as required.
  • Facilitate clinical staff meetings and multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.
  • Address performance concerns and implement corrective action plans when necessary.
Operations & Administration
  • Oversee day-to-day clinical operations, staffing models, and scheduling to ensure adequate coverage and continuity of care.
  • Collaborate with leadership on clinical budgeting, resource allocation, and fiscal oversight.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation, medical records management, and billing practices.
  • Partner with program and executive leadership on strategic planning, program development, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Direct Clinical Services & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Maintain a clinical caseload and provide direct clinical services as required by program needs.
  • Serve as a liaison among clients, families, clinical staff, leadership, and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with community partners, referral sources, and regulatory agencies to support treatment outcomes and program success.
To Be Considered You Should

Minimum Qualifications Education & Licensure
  • Master’s degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, or a closely related behavioral health field.
  • Active, unrestricted Arizona clinical license (LPC or LCSW).
  • Approved Clinical Supervisor status in Arizona (eligible to provide supervision to associate-level clinicians).
Experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience in behavioral health and/or substance use treatment.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical leadership or supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Experience working in ADHS-licensed and/or AHCCCS-funded programs preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Arizona behavioral health regulations and supervision requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, and develop multidisciplinary clinical teams.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic clinical environment.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, cultural responsiveness, and trauma-informed care.
Work Requirements
  • On-site presence required; schedule flexibility based on program needs.
  • Availability for on-call clinical support as required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen (we no longer test for THC), physical, and TB test.
  • Be able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry.
