• One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification

• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification
• STABLE and ACLS Certifications (AHA/ARC)
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse provides comprehensive patient care in the obstetric setting. Responsibilities include assessing maternal and fetal health, administering treatments, collaborating with healthcare teams, and providing immediate postpartum care. The role requires strong clinical skills, critical thinking, excellent communication, and a commitment to patient safety.

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments
• Prepare equipment and aid physicians during labor, delivery, and examinations
• Provide immediate postpartum care including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
• Comply with all regulatory standards, hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing

• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions; PC skills
• Physical abilities: remain stationary, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, bend

• Technical/motor skills: perform fine manipulation, push/pull, assist procedures, use equipment
