Youth Care Worker
- Part Time On Call

Join Our Dynamic Rite of Passage Team as a Youth Care Worker at Canyon State Academy in Queen Creek, AZ, a community rooted in a rich agricultural history and known for cultivating growth both in its fields and in the lives of youth-by fostering positive change and empowerment.

Canyon State Academy is located on a scenic 180-acre campus surrounded by a Farm, Student Housing for 300 + youth, a Thrift Store, Cafe, Barbershop and Church open to the community incorporating life skills for our students. Along with a fully equipped weight room, football stadium, and athletic center (gymnasium, padded wrestling room & more), Canyon State has it all!

Pay: $17.91 an hour

What you will do:

As a Youth Care Worker, you will provide round-the-clock supervision and support to ensure the safety and well-being of youth in our care. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Supervision & Safety:
    Monitor and supervise youth activities to maintain a safe and structured environment.
  • Skill Development:
    Teach and reinforce essential life skills, including communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
  • Recreational

    Activities:

    Plan and participate in recreational activities such as sports, arts, and group outings to promote teamwork and healthy lifestyles.
  • Vocational Training:
    Support youth in developing vocational skills by guiding them through hands-on activities and career readiness programs.
  • Daily Routines:
    Assist with daily routines, including meals, chores, and personal hygiene, while fostering responsibility and independence.
  • Mentorship:
    Build positive relationships with youth, provide mentorship, guidance, and encouragement to help them achieve their goals.
  • Documentation:
    Maintain accurate records of youth progress, behaviors, and incidents, ensuring compliance with program policies.

This role requires compassion, consistency, and a commitment to empowering youth to succeed.

To be considered you should:
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent ~ 1 year of working in a child welfare or agency setting ~ Be at least 21 years of age ~ Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen (we no longer test for THC), physical, and TB test ~ Be able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry.

Schedule:

Two Shifts

A Shift Days – Sunday - Tuesday 8am - 9pm;
Wednesday 8a-3p
* 1 hour break each day*

B Shift Days –Every other Wednesday 2pm - 9pm;
Thursday to Saturday 8a-9p
* 1 hour break each day*

* Schedule subject to change based on the need of the program*
