Overview

Join a group of passionate advocates on our mission to improve the lives of youth. Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Direct Care Staff Overnights at Desert Lily Academy in Queen Creek, Arizona.

Desert Lily Academy (DLA) is a residential treatment program providing female-specific programming in a normalized, trauma-informed setting that promotes learning, growth and positive change. Desert Lily offers an eclectic blend of academic, vocational, and extracurricular opportunities. Through innovative program elements and a model designed to address the unique needs of our young women, Desert Lily helps youth build bright and meaningful futures for themselves and their community.

Responsibilities
  • The primary responsibilities include safety and around-the-clock supervision of at-risk youth.
  • Provide for the physical, personal and health needs of each student through individual counseling and behavioral/social/physical and educational skill development.
  • Offer an atmosphere that supports the needs of the students; monitor and document student behaviors and activities; participate and assist with educational, social, athletic and recreational activities.
  • Collaborate with other professional staff to establish and/or meet the goals of each student’s treatment plan.
  • Operate as a paraprofessional within the program, reporting to a Group Leader or higher authority; supervision may be provided by a Senior Coach Counselor depending on location.
Qualifications
  • Be empathetic, patient, and treat others with respect.
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have a desire to work with troubled teens.
  • Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.
Schedule
  • A Shift: Sunday to half of the day Wednesday.
  • B Shift: Half of the day Wednesday to Saturday.
  • Schedule subject to change based on the need of the program.
