Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Monitor Technician for a 13-week contract assignment in Jamaica, NY. This role supports a busy Med/Surg unit and requires strong telemetry monitoring skills in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate must have direct Monitor Technician experience with continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring.

Note: EKG Technician experience alone does not qualify for this position. Candidates must have hands-on telemetry monitoring experience.
Responsibilities

• Provide continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring for assigned patients.
• Accurately interpret and analyze telemetry strips.
• Recognize cardiac rhythm changes and promptly report findings to nursing and clinical staff.
• Ensure correct monitoring lead placement and signal quality.
• Document cardiac rhythm findings according to facility protocols.
• Support the clinical team in maintaining patient safety and quality care standards.
• Assist with taking and recording vital signs as required.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience.
• Direct telemetry monitoring experience required.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting telemetry strips.
• Valid Telemetry Certificate Course (or equivalent certification).
• Current AHA BLS Certification (required).
• EKG Certification (required).
