Assistant Director of Nursing - SNF - Far Rockaway, NY
* salary: up to $135K/ year (depending on experience)*
Requirements:
- Requires a New York State RN licensure
- Bachelors degree in Science preferred
- RN Clinical Educator/ Infection Preventionist is required advanced training and/or is scheduled or in process of obtaining
- Must have two (2) years of experience in long term care/skilled nursing
- RN Clinical Educator/Infection Preventionist will seek and obtain continuing professional education in Infection Prevention and Control in order to better carry out his/her various professional roles and responsibilities.
- Knowledge of EMR preferred, computer skills required
- Working knowledge of state and federal regulations
- One (1) year experience in senior leadership, servicing and educating clinical staff strongly preferred
Responsibilities:
- Leads and oversees the facility’s infection prevention and control program
- Collaborates with Administrator, Director of Nursing, Medical Director, and IDT to achieve clinical and regulatory goals
- Develops, updates, and monitors infection control policies and procedures in compliance with federal and state regulations
- Tracks, analyzes, and reports infection data, trends, and antibiotic usage (Antibiotic Stewardship Program)
- Reports outcomes to leadership and the QAPI Committee
- Educates staff on infection control practices through orientation, monthly in-services, and ongoing training
- Schedules and conducts staff education programs; maintains accurate training documentation
- Evaluates and validates staff competencies with appropriate follow-up
- Participates in infection control and QAPI committees, providing audits and performance data
- Conducts unit rounds to monitor practices and provide real-time education
- Participates in surveys and serves as a liaison with regulatory agencies
- Adjusts responsibilities as needed during emergencies
