RN Clinical Educator ​/ Infection Preventionist

Rockaway Care Center is seeking an RN Clinical Educator / Infection Preventionist to lead staff education and oversee infection control programs within the facility.

This is a key clinical leadership role responsible for ensuring staff competency, maintaining regulatory compliance, and driving infection prevention initiatives across the building. The ideal candidate is both clinically strong and comfortable educating staff while managing infection control systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead clinical education and in-service training for all staff

• Ensure compliance with mandatory annual training requirements

• Oversee and manage the facility’s infection prevention and control program

• Monitor infection trends and report findings to leadership and QAPI committee

• Coordinate and support Antibiotic Stewardship programs

• Update and implement infection control policies and procedures

• Conduct new hire orientation and ongoing competency evaluations

• Participate in surveys and ensure regulatory readiness

• Provide ongoing staff education based on facility needs and performance

Qualifications

• Active New York RN license required

• Minimum of 2 years experience in hospital or long-term care

• Prior experience in staff education/in-service training preferred

• Infection Prevention experience or training (or willingness to obtain)

• Strong knowledge of state, federal, and CMS regulations

• Experience with EMR systems and documentation
