Student Life Coordinator

The Student Life Coordinator supports the Office of Student Life through student engagement initiatives, event planning and execution, student organization support, campus communications, and operational coordination. This position plays a key role in fostering a vibrant campus experience by assisting with student activities, managing communication efforts, supporting student organizations, and coordinating departmental programs and events.

Major Responsibilities

Student Engagement & Programming

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, promotion, and execution of Student Life programs, activities, and campus-wide events.
  • Support student engagement initiatives designed to enhance student involvement, campus connection, and student success.
  • Provide logistical support for departmental programs, activities, and special events.
  • Assist with event setup, coordination, and post-event assessment.

Student Organization Support

  • Serve as a resource for recognized student organizations and club leaders.
  • Assist with the administration of student organization processes, including event approvals, purchase requests, and club documentation.
  • Support the management and maintenance of student organization software platforms.
  • Provide guidance and troubleshooting assistance related to club operations and processes.

Communications & Marketing

  • Develop and maintain engaging content across departmental communication channels, including social media platforms, digital signage, and promotional materials.
  • Create graphics, flyers, videos, and written content to promote Student Life programs, events, and initiatives. Prepare and distribute the weekly "This Week @ ADK" communication.
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries received through Student Life communication platforms.
  • Assist in maintaining a consistent and professional Student Life brand presence.

Student Life Operations

  • Coordinate student worker schedules to ensure adequate office and event coverage.
  • Assist with departmental purchasing, event logistics, and operational planning.
  • Serve as the primary backup for student identification card production and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain departmental records, calendars, and project tracking systems.
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the Office of Student Life.

Customer Service & Campus Support

  • Serve as a welcoming point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors.
  • Respond to inquiries and connect students with appropriate campus resources.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment that supports student engagement and success.

Other Duties

  • Participate in departmental meetings and training opportunities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Assistant Director and Director of Student Life.
Required Skills
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google products, Canva.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Creativity and initiative in promoting programs and activities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success.
Educational Requirements
  • Associate Degree required
Experience Requirements
  • Previous experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with campus resources and services is helpful
Working Conditions and

Physical Requirements

Office environment. Occasional lifting of 5lb-10lb

Work Schedule

Monday & Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Friday: 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (20 hours per week) 9 Month position, September - May

Salary

$16.00 per hour
