Adjunct Faculty

SUNY Adirondack is a teaching- and learning-centered community college that fosters a diverse and equitable learning environment for students of all ages, backgrounds, goals, and learning styles. A member of the State University of New York, the College enrolls approximately 3,000 students in more than 30 unique academic programs that prepare students for both work and transfer to four-year institutions. The College is located in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains, one hour north of Albany and thirty minutes from Saratoga Springs.

A bachelor's degree is attainable on our Queensbury campus through our SUNY Plattsburgh extension center and, beginning in Spring 2025, on our Saratoga campus through a partnership with SUNY Cobleskill. While many of our students are first-generation college-educated and from rural areas in Upstate New York, we are excited by the influx of students from downstate and out of state who can live in our 400-bed residence hall.

From interactive classroom instruction to one-on-one guidance outside of class, our faculty and staff are committed to both personal and public transformation through education, with an emphasis on critical and creative thinking. With a population of 23% returning adults and 15% people of color, SUNY Adirondack maintains a deep commitment to diversity and inclusion and to the welfare of its growing multicultural student body.

Adjuncts are assigned a maximum of 9 credit hours and are responsible for all aspects of the courses assigned. Class times and days vary but a Friday 8:00am - 9:20am and online class time are needed for the upcoming Fall semester. Course description can be found on the SUNY Adirondack website.

The successful applicant will hold a minimum of a Master's degree in related subject area. Adjuncts' salary is based on the number of credit hours per semester, remunerated at the rate of $1,285 per credit hour.
