Position: Retail Banker Part-Time 20 | Quincy

Position

Part‑Time 20 Retail Banker – Capital City Bank – More than your bank, your banker.

Hours:

20–29 hours per week (including any Saturdays worked). Not to exceed 29 hours per week.

General Summary

The Retail Banker (RB) provides prompt, efficient and friendly service to clients. This role assists clients with their banking needs, introduces clients to technology, provides information about bank products and services, and identifies opportunities to satisfy clients’ and prospective clients’ financial needs and goals. The RB follows established policies and procedures.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Must be energetic, engaging and able to handle various client interactions with innovative banking technologies.
  • Open, close, service and support all accounts, products and services.
  • Use various programs to ensure work is completed accurately and in compliance with regulations such as Bank Secrecy Act, Reg CC, Privacy, Currency Transaction Reporting.
  • Respond to client questions or concerns in a quick, courteous and friendly manner.
  • Cross‑sell bank products and services, marketing campaigns and initiatives, to new and existing clients to meet their needs as well as attain individual, division and bank goals.
  • Enter data, update and maintain client information and status of referrals and leads in Synapsis.
  • Follow procedures for open/close office and robbery response.
  • Educate clients regarding , phishing scams.
  • Process consumer and commercial transactions, i.e., account deposits/withdrawals, check cashing, loan payments, official checks, wires, and safe deposit box payments, when applicable.
  • Keep cash secure and maintain a high level of safety and security; maintain cash levels; balance cash drawer daily; scan Teller work.
  • Follow procedures including researching and locating outages, thereby limiting violations of Teller and Personal Banker performance balancing standards.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions, as required.
Associated Duties
  • Provide additional support to manager and department colleagues.
  • Complete all assigned/required bank training within established timelines.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

(KSA) Required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to verbally communicate effectively and interact positively with clients, associates and business partners.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and a wide range of procedures requiring some judgement.
  • Requires concentration to avoid mistakes in counting cash.
  • Proficiency in data entry/typing.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations using various business machines and/or computers.
  • Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to apply initiative and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to exercise sound and reasonable judgement.
  • Sales, retail and/or referral experience is preferable, particularly in cross‑marketing products and services.
  • Must have attained the age of 18 for coverage under insurance bond.
  • Use of and/or understanding of Capital City Bank products and services is a plus.
Education

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred, but not required. Relevant experience may substitute for the education requirement. Successful completion of an in‑house training program or other approved training program is a plus.

Working Conditions
  • Work at desk in lobby and behind Teller line.
  • Regular contact with clients, associates and supervisor.
  • Repetitive motions.
  • Close visual acuity.
  • Some lifting of heavy coins.
  • Position requires sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, and squatting.
  • Receiving currency from all sources may cause environment to be temporarily unclean.
  • Lobby environment requires professional demeanor, conduct and appearance.
  • In the rare instance of a major or extensive natural disaster, epidemic or pandemic occurrence, or other disruption within our footprint, it may be necessary for associates to relocate or telecommute before, during or after, to ensure business continuity.
