Job Summary: The primary responsibility of the Assistant Laboratory Technician is to perform precise analytical tests in accordance with established procedures of the company and the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) as well as other recognized methods.
Essential Duties- Assist the Chemist with experiments related to compounds.
- Gather materials necessary for research and development techniques.
- Conduct reporting to ensure process control and promote continuous improvement.
- Assist in the development of new products and collaborate with the production leadership team to maintain quality standards for existing chemical products through consistent quality control inspections.
- Conduct at least four daily inspections of finished goods and document findings on an inspection sheet.
- Collaborate with the site Environmental, Health, and Safety team to ensure compliance and facilitate improvements.
- Assist in maintaining adherence to current state and federal EPA and NSF registrations as required.
- Organize and store all quality control retain samples in designated storage areas.
- Assist in creating and documenting standard operating procedures for plant operational processes.
- Assist plant operations with reporting as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma/GED
- 3 – 5 years of experience in Industrial Manufacturing and/or Quality Control
- Proficient in utilizing computer software, particularly Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to provide clear direction to all levels of employees
- Ability to lead environmental, health, and safety initiatives across the facility
- Experience working in a fast paced and high-volume work environment.
- Proactive “self-starter” with a strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Consistent interaction with research and development, quality control, and production team members and management.
Working Conditions and Physical DemandsThis position works in a manufacturing work setting. Frequently exposed to seasonal temperatures of excessive cold or heat. Work environment is often loud, dusty and/or dirty due to the materials required for production.
Physical Demands:
Frequent talk, frequent stand, frequent bend, frequent lift, frequent walk, occasional sit, occasional push, occasional stoop, occasional kneel, occasional climb, occasional repetitive motions. Physical work:
Heavy – 25‑50 lbs (25‑50%).
