Job Description Summary
The EHS Workers' Compensation RN coordinates and implements hospital-wide programs for the prevention and control of workplace associated illnesses and injuries for health system employees.
Essential Functions- Accurately with appropriate documentation.
- Performed efficiently, within 1/2 hour.
- Consults with Nurse Practitioner when necessary for employee evaluation.
- Orders appropriate diagnostic tests utilizing approved protocols.
- Follows the care of the employee throughout the period of injury.
- Works with finance to determine employee wages during period of disability.
- Attend weekly meetings to determine trends and outcomes on contracted employees.
- Maintain OSHA sharps log for reporting monthly and yearly injuries.
- Minimum Education:
Preferred Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing as validated through the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing. - Preferred:
Previous Acute Care RN experience. - Required
Licenses/Certifications:
Registered Nurse – Board of Registration in Nursing (Massachusetts). - Required additional Knowledge and Abilities:
Thorough understanding of healthcare and is data driven and colleague focused;
Vaccination and TB screening experience required; CIC or COHN certification (preferred);
Excel experience (preferred).
