Position: Assistant Professor of Clinical FCM (DDS/DMD) SMS-3463 - Adams County
Description

This position will provide dental care services to patients of the Center for Family Medicine's FQHC programs. The incumbent will work closely with the Dental Director to coordinate training experiences for dental students and other learners.

Examples of Duties
  • Teaching (10%)
    • Develop and facilitate core curriculum conferences for the FCM residency program on the integration of oral health and primary care.
    • Serve as a mentor for dental students and residents at the Quincy or Pike County site.
    • Supervise dental students providing care to patients.
  • Research/Academic Activities (5%)
    • Attend professional meetings to stay updated on new developments and treatments.
  • Service (80%)
    • Provide direct dental services at SIU CFM dental clinics in Adams and Pike Counties.
    • Supervise dental hygienists and assistants in patient care.
    • Demonstrate commitment to the mission and standards of SIU School of Medicine through actions, providing excellent service through collaboration, compassion, respect, integrity, accountability, diversity, inclusion, and continuous learning.
  • Administration (5%)
    • Maintain effective relationships with community providers to enhance services and outcomes.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and quality patient care.
    • Participate as a member of the Management Team and CQI Committee.
    • Attend faculty and core meetings as requested.
  • Qualifications
    • Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority and low-income populations.
    • Doctorate of Dental Surgery or Doctorate of Dental Medicine, or pursuing such.
    • Licensed or license-eligible to practice dentistry in Illinois.
