Position Overview

Comprehensive Prosthetics & Orthotics (CPO) is seeking an ABC Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist (CPO) to provide comprehensive prosthetic and orthotic patient care in an outpatient clinical setting. This role delivers custom prosthetics, custom orthotics, lower limb prosthetics, upper limb prosthetics, gait analysis, functional assessment, and device fitting and adjustment in collaboration with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams. The Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist will evaluate patient mobility needs, design evidence-based treatment plans, and ensure optimal device fit, comfort, and long-term functional outcomes while maintaining compliance with Medicare, ABC certification standards, and applicable state regulations.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality prosthetic and orthotic patient care in accordance with ABC scope of practice, clinical best practices, and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, gait analysis, and functional assessments to determine appropriate prosthetic and orthotic treatment plans.
  • Design, fit, align, adjust, and troubleshoot prosthetic and orthotic devices to ensure comfort, biomechanical function, and patient satisfaction.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on device use, wear schedules, rehabilitation goals, and long-term care expectations.
  • Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and case managers to coordinate interdisciplinary treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation to support reimbursement, Medicare compliance, and clinical continuity of care.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with referral sources to support clinic growth and patient access.
  • Ensure all clinical services are performed in accordance with applicable state licensure requirements, ABC certification standards, OSHA regulations, and payer guidelines.
  • Contribute to a collaborative clinic culture through professionalism, accountability, and mentorship of support staff when applicable.

Required Qualifications

  • ABC Certification in Prosthetics and Orthotics (CPO) required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and clinical training.
  • Strong understanding of biomechanics, human anatomy, prosthetic and orthotic componentry, and rehabilitation principles.
  • Ability to manage patient caseload independently while maintaining high documentation and compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with patients and healthcare partners.
  • Eligibility to practice in accordance with applicable state regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience providing prosthetic and/or orthotic services.
  • Experience in referral development, physician engagement, or healthcare relationship management.
  • Clinical leadership or mentorship experience.
  • Experience in a growing outpatient O&P clinic environment.
  • Starting salary: $75,000 annually for newly certified clinicians
    , with additional compensation based on experience and clinical leadership contributions.
