Shipping and Receiving Forklift Operator

Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Forklift Operator to join their team. As a Shipping and Receiving Forklift Operator, you will be part of the Shipping and Receiving department supporting the warehouse team. The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Forklift Operator

Shift: 9:30am-5:30pm

Location: Quincy, IL

Pay Range: $42,120 per year

What's the Job?

• Unloading bagged raw materials and pallets of raw materials with forklifts.
• Checking bag weights of all incoming material with electronic scale.
• Coordinating bag count with Shipping & Receiving Supervisor.
• Preparing sample bag, writing material, supplier, and date received on the envelope. Removing sample and places in envelope to be sent to laboratory. Visually inspecting material for obvious signs of poor quality. Completing incoming receiving report to purchasing department.
• Insuring the correct amount of bags is placed properly on pallets.
• Loading finished products onto trucks or railroad cars, either by placing bagged material on the floor, loading pallets with forklift as specified by order.
• Taking pictures of loaded trucks and railcars with camera. Providing Shipping & Receiving Supervisor with pictures for future reference with regards to damage claim.
• Performing regular cycle counting inventory with the direction of the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor.
• Servicing forklift daily and performing miscellaneous duties such as marking new pallets with company name, cleaning up assigned areas, and keeping the warehouse in a neat, workable condition.

• Must have a valid forklift operator experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and strong communication skills.
