Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown) position requiring an active IL RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care setting.

  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Stepdown) in an acute care hospital setting
  • 24-bed unit with a 1:3 or 1:4 patient‑to‑nurse ratio depending on acuity
  • Patient population includes dysrhythmias, cardiopulmonary conditions, sepsis, high‑flow O₂ needs, and behavioral patients requiring IV drip medications
  • Medication drips include dopamine, levophed, cardizem, heparin, precedex, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, dobutamine, and nicardine
  • EMR:
    Epic
  • 12‑hour night shifts
  • May be required to work up to every other weekend
  • Level II Trauma facility
Requirements
  • Active IL RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

    Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Acute care stepdown or PCU experience strongly applicable to this role
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
Additional Information
  • A dedicated unit educator works closely with staff on the floor
  • High patient throughput is expected, consistent with a stepdown unit environment
  • 13‑week contract assignment
Pay & Benefits

Job  #P-708359. Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
