The Pre-Anesthesia Clinic (PAC) Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive preoperative assessment, care coordination and patient education through a combination of onsite clinic coverage and flexible PAC call shifts. This role supports surgical readiness by ensuring accurate documentation, timely pre‑op optimization and high‑quality patient communication. The schedule includes flexible start times and variable shift lengths to meet patient volume, accommodate staffing needs and support work/life balance.
This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Hospital. It is expected that the employee demonstrates behavior consistent with the core values while supporting the strategic plan, goals, and direction of the Performance Improvement Process (PIP) at Blessing Hospital.
Key ResponsibilitiesPre‑Anesthesia Clinic (Onsite):
- Conduct face‑to‑face preoperative assessments and focused physicals.
- Review medications, allergies, comorbidities, labs, imaging, and consult requirements.
- Prepare patients for anesthesia evaluation and optimize readiness for surgery.
- Provide patient education on pre‑op instructions, NPO guidelines, and post‑op expectations.
- Coordinate care with anesthesiologists, surgeons, secretaries, and LPNs.
PAC Call Responsibilities (Onsite):
- Perform scheduled pre‑op telephone assessments with accuracy and efficiency.
