Job Summary:
Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical/Telemetry units, providing inpatient care for diverse surgical and medical patients. This role involves managing complex cases, utilizing EPIC electronic health records during upcoming conversion, and supporting a fast-paced environment with a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and deliver comprehensive nursing care to surgical and medical patients on the unit.
- Monitor and interpret telemonitor strips, utilizing telehealth technology for patient assessment.
- Administer medications, including titratable infusion Drips such as Heparin, following protocol.
- Collaborate with virtual admission/discharge nurses and support staff to enhance patient flow.
- Educate and support patients and families regarding post-op care, medications, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and clinical interventions in EPIC system.
- Valid RN license.
- Minimum of 1 year of surgical or acute care nursing experience.
- Strong understanding of PCA pumps, TPN, Lipids, and narcotic management.
- Proven experience with total joint replacements, sepsis management, and advanced airway equipment like Bipap/CPAP.
- Must have EPIC electronic health record experience.
- Current BLS certification; NIHSS preferred.
