Specialized Nursing Care In Stepdown Or Intermediate Care Unit
Provide specialized nursing care to patients in a stepdown or intermediate care unit, managing complex conditions and ensuring optimal patient outcomes. Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver high-quality, efficient care tailored to patient acuity.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patient conditions regularly and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer various medication drips such as dopamine, levophed, cardizem, heparin, precedex, nitro, amio, dobutamine, and Nicardine.
- Monitor patient responses and adjust treatments accordingly to ensure safety and efficacy.
- Educate patients and staff on patient care protocols and medication management.
- Collaborate closely with an educator and interdisciplinary team to enhance clinical outcomes.
- Document patient information accurately and maintain compliance with hospital policies.
Qualifications:
- Hold an active RN license and/or applicable state nursing credentials.
- Possess at least 1-2 years of recent experience in IMC, PCU, or stepdown units.
- Demonstrate strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Exhibit proficiency in managing IV drips and complex medication protocols.
- Show the ability to work efficiently in a high-throughput environment, including every other weekend shifts.
- Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications.
