The Quincy Humane Society’s (QHS) Shelter Veterinarian is responsible for daily evaluation, diagnosis, care, and treatment of all shelter and foster animals – assisting in developing protocols and procedures related to the health and well‑being of animals. Provide supportive care for adopted QHS animals and the community animals as needed. Quincy Humane Society runs a spay and neuter clinic, and the Shelter Veterinarian is responsible for performing those surgical procedures on all QHS animals as well as animals owned by community members.
The Shelter Veterinarian is also responsible for working with the surgical team to run a vaccine and wellness clinic. Maintain a positive and professional image for QHS at all times.
- Diagnose and treat shelter and foster animals
- Perform high‑volume spay/neuter surgeries and other surgical procedures
- Oversee wellness and vaccination clinics for shelter and community pets
- Provide supportive care for adopted QHS animals and community animals as needed
- Assist in developing protocols and procedures related to the health and well‑being of animals
- Mentor team members on safe handling practices and medical care
$130,000 - $150,000 per year
