General FunctionCreates floral arrangements at the request of customers and fills necessary merchandising needs. Takes floral orders in person and over the telephone. Operates as a lead with the floral clerks.

District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Perishables, Store Operations, and Health Wellness Home;
Floral Department Manager. Positions that Report to you:
None.
- Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
- Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner in the store, including within the floral department.
- Learn customers’ names and address them by name whenever possible.
- Assist customers by escorting them to products, securing items, assisting with loading heavy items, noting and passing along customer suggestions or requests, and other tasks to enhance the shopping experience.
- Answer the telephone promptly with friendly, helpful service.
- Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
- Clean, process, and cut flowers appropriately.
- Be responsible for the department in the absence of the Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Understand and process FTD, interstore, Teleflora orders, and Internet Orders.
- Inventory product, evaluate status, care for damaged product, and replenish as needed.
- Fill customer orders completely and create floral arrangements in a timely manner.
- Ensure floral products are fresh in the shop and storewide; maintain the floral area cleanliness.
- Take special requests for product in person or by telephone.
- Counsel customers regarding plants and floral care.
- Identify key areas to place specials within the store.
- Operate as a lead with the floral clerks, including training and handling telephone orders.
- Order flowers and supplies daily or as needed with direction from the Floral Manager.
- Address customer issues and product problems.
- Understand the basics of floral products, care and handling, plant and flower identification, and be able to explain product requirements to customers.
- Unload trucks, store products properly, replenish merchandise, wrap flowers carefully to avoid damage.
- Adhere to company policies and store guidelines.
- Report to work as scheduled and on time.
- Deliver product as necessary.
- Share ideas for arrangements for customers (funerals, weddings, anniversaries, etc.).
- Read industry references, learn from floral experts, and stay open to new ideas.
- Help with store events and decorations as needed.
- Assist in other areas of the store as needed.
- Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.
- Instructing, assigning work, reviewing work, planning work of others, maintaining standards, coordinating activities.
- Has the authority to recommend disciplinary actions.
- Ability to solve practical problems with a variety of variables and limited standardization; interpret instructions.
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Ability to file, post, and mail materials; copy data; interview to obtain information; guide people and provide basic direction.
High School or three years of similar or related work experience.
Physical Requirements- Medium work: exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
- Vision requirements: near and far vision with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
