Position Summary

People love shopping for fresh food at Sam’s Club because of our hard‑working, happy‑to‑help fresh food associates. In this role you won’t just cut meat – you’ll decide on quality, packaging, and display so members can bring quality products home.

• Be a Team Member: collaborate with associates to build a strong meat team; communicate with teammates, and be flexible to business needs, including work in other areas.
• Be an Expert: demonstrate knowledge of floor and backroom operations, product safety standards, sanitation guidelines, inventory management, and equipment maintenance; prepare meat products (cut, grind, wrap, trim) to established standards; cut boneless meat; and maintain product quality.
• Be a Techie: leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement; use handheld technology for immediate business decisions related to production, training, and product quality.
• Be an Owner: ensure operational excellence, maintain work area per company policies, uphold quality and date‑control standards for meat, protect fragile/high‑shrink merchandise, eliminate waste, assist members with purchasing decisions, and package, label, and store products properly.
• Be a Talent Ambassador: advocate for the department and club; model high quality service and products; execute basics at highest level of quality; exhibit energy, commitment, and passion.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and ethics standards; implement action plans; use the Open Door Policy; integrate policies into business processes.
• Complete work assignments and priorities using policies, data, and resources; collaborate with managers, co‑workers, customers, and partners; set priorities, deadlines, and expectations; communicate progress and recommendations for improvement; adapt to change and feedback.
