Position: Investment Performance Analysis, Senior Associate

Who we are looking for

A leader within the Private Equity and Real Assets Fund Services business unit of the State Street Alternative Investment Services Group, who is dedicated to delivering financial reporting, day‑to‑day accounting, and administrative support to premier real estate fund clients. You will build innovative solutions to revolutionize how State Street serves our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the general ledger for various fund entities.
  • Prepare supporting work papers for financial statements, portfolio schedules, and capital account allocations.
  • Prepare financial statements and footnote disclosures.
  • Perform analytical review of monthly/quarterly investment and fund performance data.
  • Review and prepare capital calls, distributions, and bank reconciliations.
  • Calculate management, annual, and incentive fees.
  • Prepare various client correspondences.
  • Calculate waterfalls and capital account allocations.
  • Conduct special projects as requested.
  • Process alternative investment activity and valuations for limited partnership real estate and hedge funds, entering data within 24 hours using correct ledgers.
  • Monitor daily exceptions between custody and accounting applications, aiming to clear within four days.
  • Retrieve statements from manager websites/emails and update market values in the valuation tool.
  • Run pricing daily/monthly and review/confirm price changes over 5%.
  • Complete daily and month‑end checklists to confirm all activity and pricing is complete.
  • Monitor client mailboxes and clear them daily up to 4PM.
  • Assist in setting up clients on State Street’s electronic cash flow module (ECFM).
  • Maintain client requirements and provide reports as specified.
  • Participate in change management activities (e.g., restructures, new benchmarks).
  • Deliver Universe and related products within prescribed timescales.
  • Liaise with data providers, colleagues, and clients on quality and timeliness of data and content of reports.
  • Execute quality‑control checks on reports prepared by performance administrators.
  • Provide timely handovers of work in progress to other teams as appropriate.
  • Overtime may be required if deliverables are not met.
  • Utilize strong computer competence (Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • Apply strong oral communication, interpersonal skills, math aptitude, accuracy, and detail orientation.
  • Multi‑task and work under pressure within a deadline‑oriented environment.
Qualifications
  • Fund accounting or public accounting experience.
  • CPA certification or active pursuit of CPA certification.
  • Experience leading verbal and written communication at senior levels with internal and external clients.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to multi‑task and work efficiently to meet client deliverables.
  • Strong computer competence (Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • High aptitude for mathematics.
  • Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong accuracy aptitude and detail orientation.
  • Ability to multi‑task and work under pressure in a deadline‑oriented environment.
Salary

$52,000 – $84,760 annual. The quoted range applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate ultimately works outside of the primary location, the applicable range could differ.
