Senior Accountant
We are actively seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant. This role supports the accounting function for the Business Unit (BU) by maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with key accounting processes. The Senior Accountant plays an important role in ensuring the integrity of financial data and contributing to informed financial decision-making. Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting corporate accounting policies at the BU level and maintaining appropriate internal controls to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.
This role involves working within ERP systems and other tools to support day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring adherence to GAAP and SOX compliance requirements.
The Senior Accountant’s responsibilities include assisting with month‑end close, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations, and analyzing financial data to support the business.
Responsibilities- Support the month‑end close process at the BU level, including preparing journal entries, assisting with account reconciliations, and ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Perform day‑to‑day accounting activities, including bank reconciliations, supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, and assisting with inventory accounting to ensure accuracy.
- Assist in preparing and analyzing financial data and reports to support business decision‑making, including variance analysis related to revenue, costs, and operating expenses.
- Support the Assistant Controller in business reviews, reporting requirements, and special projects as needed.
- Ensure adherence to corporate accounting policies and procedures and assist in maintaining compliance with GAAP and internal controls across key accounting areas (cash, AR, AP, inventory, etc.).
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Sales, Procurement, Operations, etc.) to support accurate financial reporting and improve data quality.
- Work with Corporate Accounting and FP&A teams to provide requested financial information and support timely and accurate reporting.
- Assist in the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasts by gathering data and preparing supporting schedules.
- Support cash management activities, including assisting with cash tracking and forecasting.
- Assist with sales and use tax filings and ensure compliance with applicable state and local requirements.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall financial performance.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

- Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel (or similar tools) preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support month‑end close and business demands.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA path or MBA preferred. - Experience:
1–3 years of experience in a dedicated accounting/finance function, manufacturing and inventory accounting experience strongly preferred. - Knowledge:
Strong understanding of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIF/SUMIFS, and other data analysis functions. Experience working with ERP systems; experience with Epicor ERP is a plus. Exposure to core accounting functions such as general ledger, account reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and month‑end close. Basic understanding of internal controls and compliance concepts (SOX exposure is a plus).
Strong aptitude for learning new systems, tools, and processes quickly. Demonstrated ability to improve processes and solve problems.
