Tax Manager

An established, independent public accounting firm in Western Massachusetts is hiring a Tax Manager as part of its next leadership group. You'll review complex returns, mentor the tax team, and own client relationships directly. This is a senior seat just below partner, on a firm that is growing and deliberately building its next ownership group.

• Review corporate, partnership, individual, and nonprofit returns
• Own client relationships and lead year-round planning conversations
• Mentor and develop tax seniors and staff
• Help manage workflow through busy-season deadlines
• Contribute to firm strategy and process as part of the leadership group

• 10-15 years of tax experience in public accounting
• Strong review skills across corporate, partnership, and individual work
• Experience managing people and client relationships directly
• CPA (required for the advancement path this role is built for)
• A genuine interest in a smaller‑firm environment where you'll have a voice

• $125,000-$160,000+ base, plus discretionary year‑end bonus
• Firm pays 70% of health premiums (any plan tier), safe-harbor 401(k), and tax‑free student loan assistance
• Two weeks vacation plus personal/sick time, banked busy‑season hours as additional paid time off, and summer Fridays off
• Mentorship and CPA support for your team, plus commission on any clients you bring in
