Compensation: $120,000 – $135,000/year + bonus

Atlantic Group is hiring an Accounting Manager in Middlesex County, MA for our client, supporting general accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, and accounting operations. The Accounting Manager will oversee key accounting activities while partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and improve accounting processes. This role also provides team leadership responsibilities and opportunities to leverage technology to enhance reporting and operational efficiency.

• Month-End Close:
  Lead monthly accounting close activities while ensuring transactions, journal entries, accruals, and adjustments are accurately recorded and supported.
• Financial Reporting:
  Review general ledger activity, account analyses, reconciliations, and financial reporting to maintain accurate and timely financial information.
• Accounting Operations:
  Oversee accounting activities and resolve issues related to revenue, expenses, fixed assets, and other operational accounting areas.
• Controls & Compliance:
  Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to support GAAP compliance and reliable financial reporting.
• Process Improvement:
  Leverage financial systems and technology to improve reconciliations, reporting, analysis, and accounting workflows.
• Team Leadership:
  Manage and develop accounting professionals while promoting collaboration, accountability, and consistent execution across the team.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Certification: CPA certification and/or an MBA is preferred.
• Experience:
  
  5+ years of progressive accounting experience involving month-end close, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting is required, including experience leading or overseeing accounting activities.
• Industry Knowledge:
  Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, accrual accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, internal controls, and accounting close processes is required.
• Technical
  
  Skills:
  
  Strong Microsoft Excel and financial systems skills are required, with experience leveraging technology to improve accounting processes and reporting preferred.
