Senior Accounting Manager

Our client, a growing private equity-backed software company, is seeking a Senior Manager of Accounting to serve as a key leader within the Finance organization. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role will lead core accounting operations, financial reporting, technical accounting, and process-improvement initiatives, and help scale the organization through its next stage of growth.

This role offers significant visibility with executive leadership and private equity stakeholders and is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic SaaS environment. The successful candidate will combine strong technical accounting expertise with a strategic mindset and a passion for building efficient, scalable financial processes.

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Oversee the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and related accounting functions.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses.
• Maintain accounting policies and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Partner closely with the CFO on monthly financial reviews and business performance analyses.
• Prepare management reporting packages and support executive decision-making.

• Lead revenue recognition activities under ASC 606 for subscription, licensing, and professional services revenue streams.
• Review customer contracts and assess accounting implications of complex or non-standard arrangements.
• Prepare technical accounting memos and support accounting for significant transactions.
• Assist with acquisition accounting, integrations, and other strategic growth initiatives.

• Manage, mentor, and develop members of the accounting team.
• Establish scalable processes and controls to support continued growth.
• Drive automation initiatives and improve accounting workflows.
• Identify opportunities to enhance reporting efficiency and operational effectiveness.
• Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Sales Operations, HR, and Executive Leadership.

• Support reporting requirements for private equity sponsors, lenders, and board presentations.
• Assist the CFO with investor-quality financial reporting and operational analyses.
• Monitor debt covenant compliance and support cash management activities.
• Participate in strategic planning, operational improvements, and growth initiatives.

• Coordinate annual audits and serve as the primary accounting contact for external auditors.
• Strengthen and maintain internal controls and accounting policies.
• Support tax compliance and annual tax provision activities with external advisors.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and accounting best practices.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA required or strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 3+ years of public accounting experience required;
  Big 4 experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Experience with in a software, SaaS, technology, or recurring revenue business.
• Prior management experience with a track record of developing teams.
• Experience working within a private equity-backed organization is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication, and business partnering skills.
• Experience with Net Suite, Salesforce, Flo Qast, Adaptive Planning, or similar systems is a plus.

Base Salary: $155,000 - $170,000 + Equity
