Administrative Assistant– LASIK & Cataract Surgery

Location:

Quincy, MA
Job Type:Part-time, flexible schedule, 24 hours on average a week
Pay: $21-24 per hour

About Us
The Nielsen Eye Center is dedicated to providing our patients with the most advanced technology and the most experienced LASIK and cataract surgeons, with locations in Quincy, Norwell, Norwood, and Weymouth.

Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Admin Assistant to support our Patient Advocate department with insurance and administrative processing for our LASIK and cataract surgery patients. This is a behind-the-scenes, non-patient-facing role focused on accurate, timely processing of insurance-related paperwork and requests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process prior authorization requests for surgical procedures
  • Submit and track insurance referrals
  • Complete and manage co-management forms with referring providers
  • Process patient payments and post to accounts accurately
  • Coordinate MRI and other diagnostic imaging requests
  • Maintain organized, up-to-date records for all insurance and referral documentation
  • Communicate with insurance carriers to resolve authorization or referral issues
  • Support the Patient Advocate team with administrative tasks as needed
Training & Development

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Comfortable with insurance terminology, prior authorizations, and referral processes
  • Organized and tech-savvy
  • Prior experience with insurance processing, medical billing, or similar administrative work a plus
