Overview
Board Operators are responsible formaintainingthe quality of our on-air shows. This includes assisting with the production of live and recorded radio shows and podcasts,including isolating audio for show hosts,as well asmaintainingstation logs, operating the control boards, screenlistenerphone calls,and client relations.and operate remote broadcast equipment.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Functions
- Run the control board for live and prerecorded programming,take FCC Transmitter readings, run Emergency
Alert System (EAS) tests,maintainingensureingproper audio levels, transitions, and compliance with broadcast standards. - Load, schedule, and mManageon-air programming content withinthe
WideOrbitautomationsystem,,including retrieving files viaWide Orbit Audio Finder,FTPsites, websites, and other digital delivery methods. - Review audio content for technical accuracy, sound quality, and adherence to station and client specifications prior to airing.
- Monitoring and addressing issues withon-air programs for mistakes such as missedsatellitecues,silence, etc.
- May be asked to screen live listener phone calls
- Produce Supportliveorandrecorded broadcast programs
- Editing programs from local clients/churches as well as station initiatives and programs.
- In-office attendance as directed by local management
- Record daily voice tracks forall stations in the market as directed.
Non-Essential Job Functions
- Provide production coverage and fill in for other production staff or station personnel as operational needs arise.
- Assist with studio organization and routine maintenance of production areas.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Must have a foundational understanding of audio production and broadcast systems.
- Must be familiar with Wide Orbit automation systemandthe
FileZilla FTPsoftwaresitepreferred. - Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel,and Outlook, Adobe Audition
- Mustpossessvocal clarity and clear diction.
- Attention to detailand proactive attitude, andhave the ability towork in a fast-paced environment
- Must have flexible schedule and be available to work various shifts, including nights and weekends
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of thisjobthe employee is regularly required touse hands to finger motion, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel,talkand hear.
The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.
