Position: Claims Service Specialist I - Hybrid

Key Responsibilities
  • Timely completion of all case activities, maximizing customer service and minimizing net loss payout.
  • Contact all insureds, claimants and witnesses that may have information relating to the loss, either in person, by telephone or in writing.
  • Input and retrieve information using the automated claims system, request checks, form letters and other correspondence through the automated claim system.
  • Evaluate case facts determining coverage, liability and reserves, and report on settlement; maintain a reminder system.
  • With guidance, negotiate settlements with individuals, attorneys, and other insurance carriers within the granted settlement authority level.
  • Keep management informed of activities and problems within assigned area of responsibility.
  • Pursue subrogation and may arrange for salvage to obtain the maximum recovery.
  • Provide information to all interested parties, including the local agents, by answering routine questions regarding the status of the claim.
  • Maintain claim files and document claim file activities in accordance with established procedures.
  • Successfully complete all required in‑house training.
  • Perform other related duties as required or requested.
  • Manage and track all claims referred to subrogation counsel.
  • Daily navigation and management of E-Subro Hub.
  • Prepare well written contentions for arbitration filings when liability and damages are in dispute.

Salary range: approximately $49,010 ($26.00 an hour) – $51,008 ($27.09 an hour) based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience.
