Position Description & OverviewThe Girard School of Business at Merrimack College has openings for in-person Undergraduate courses for Introduction of Economics and Intermediate Micro-economics for the Fall 2026 semester. Courses will begin on August 31, 2026 and run through December 18, 2026. The courses are fully in-person and all applicants must be able to teach in this modality.
• Introduction of Economics (ECO
1201):
Tuesday/Thursday 3:00 PM ‑ 4:50 PM. This course introduces people’s economic decision‑making and covers both microeconomic and macroeconomic theory and issues, including markets, supply and demand, business cycles, unemployment, inflation, and economic policy.
• Intermediate Microeconomics (ECO
2201):
This course focuses on how the price system allocates resources and goods to maximize societal welfare. It examines optimizing behavior of producers and consumers, perfect market outcomes, and the impact of market imperfections such as monopoly, externalities, and power.
Master’s degree in business or a related area;
Ph.D. preferred. College teaching experience is preferred, although related work experience may be considered.

Minimum: $5,000 per 4‑credit course. The actual pay offered will be determined based on candidate qualifications, prior experience, scope of responsibilities, internal equity, and market considerations.
